A year ago I gave the following TED talk on chess:
Strategies for Success from the Wisdom of Chess
I've honed in and developed a lot of my “thinking" skills by discovering analogous connections with real life that lay hidden deep within chess, and I wanted to capture and share those learnings with the world (or at least anyone who would find these types of things interesting 🙂).
While chess analogies have become almost a cliche nowadays, I doubt you’ll have ever seen some of these connections before.
If you don’t have time to check this talk out or play it in the background, I’ve made available—for the first time ever—the original presentation slides for you, my beloved reader 🧡
Some of the ideas I covered include:
What makes someone curious?
The importance of “What happens next?”
Quality of Decision ≠ Quality of Outcome
How we actually think vs How we “should” think
Micro vs Macro Zoom Thinking
Respect for the Other
What kind of cool problem will you solve this day?
